Built for the world’s biggest stages, the PF-1 delivers commanding output, clarity, and control in a refined, modern humbucker. Developed in collaboration with Matt Bellamy, the PF-1 is engineered to meet the demands of a player whose tone must be as dynamic and hard-hitting as his performance.
Originally conceived in 2015 as the PsychoPAF for the DR-1 Drone guitar, the PF-1 has since been meticulously refined and is now proudly released as the Matthew Bellamy Signature Pickup. Designed in-house by Simon Thorn, the PF-1 is voiced to be hot, bright, and articulate, pushing amplifiers into saturation while maintaining definition and note separation.
A sand-cast Alnico 5 magnet provides tight, authoritative lows and focused mids, complemented by balanced, cutting highs. Premium construction includes American high-carbon steel slugs and screws and 43 AWG wire, delivering both tonal consistency and tour-ready reliability. Each PF-1 is handmade in the UK, built to the same exacting standards as every Manson pickup.
